Definition operator

Operators in Java are special symbols that perform arithmetic or logical calculations. The values on which the operator operates are called operands. There are arithmetic, relational, logical and bit operators.

Furthermore, a distinction is made between unary (one-digit, monadic) operators, binary (two-digit, dyadic) operators and three-digit (ternary, tryadic) operators. Unary operators have a single operand (e.g. a++). Binary operators consist of two operands (e.g. a == b).
